red blends
this past weekend, i adventured in the rain to a bottle your own event at a local winery. i am continued to be amazed by the number of local wineries with excellent wine. i arrived with a case of empty bottles of wine and we filled them with a red blend~ they corked and labeled the bottles as well.
filling a 750ml bottle is $5 and if you dont have your own bottle, you can buy one for $1....
for years, i’ve wanted to buy a vintage birdcage for a garden. this sunday was a monumental day as i purchased the most perfect one at ‘antiques by the bay’. i will be moving into a little apt cottage this week where the garden doubles the footprint.

moonlighting
turning your hobbies into a moonlighting ‘job’ is ideal. my sister plans to open and actively work on her etsy account. as a talented arts & crafter, this is the perfect way for her to share her creations with the e-world. i plan to continue volunteering at the local farmers market. i say volunteering, because i do not get paid. however, i get something better than $— fresh...

it’s easy to be distracted during the holidays. with lights, parties, gifts, baking—stimulation of all senses is overwhelming. i need to remember to count my blessings and be sure to pay it forward.

aspirations
setting goals both big and small was part of my new years resolution this year. while near term goal-setting can be more fulfilling, i have aspirations that are quite astronomical. these are not ones that i want to dream about, but ones i want to make my reality. *bot. when i become less shy about writing, i will share. in the meantime, ask me offline.
milkshakes and giving back

prospective
i conduct interviews for prospective students who are interested in attending bowdoin college, where i spent four great years. it is such a joy when i get an interview request. when i meet the high school seniors, i am inspired by their excitement for college and growing up. their eagerness to prove themselves to be a contributing citizen and good student is refreshing. i am reminded that i ought...

integration
i love social media. i am active on facebook, twitter, foursquare, linked-in & tumblr. facebook just announced their “places” product which will integrate location based networking with fb(ie foursquare, etc). as it is, you can integrate all these different social media together.
for each of these different outlets, i have a different use and following. i do not integrate any of...
2nd annual
wine and cheese party tomorrow. very excited—had to refrain from buying another dozen wine glasses (putting us at 60). i can see how party-planning can be a full time job. in the meantime, cheers! weather says 75 degrees and sunny: perfect.
sometimes all you need to hear is “i just wanted to hear your voice”. end vm.

i try to be adaptive to my surrounding, environment and culture. i believe this grants the highest level of success when interacting with people who are similar to you, and people who are not. one cultural phenomenon that is hard for me to fully accept, is the SMS text.

in short, i feel rejuvenated, appreciative, blessed and loved.

boat shoes
i love catching up with friends whose lives are so different than mine. mainly because it allows my imagination and day-dreaming abilities to be used.
a college friend of mine is a fisherman on martha’s vineyard in massachusetts. we talk on the phone at least bi-monthly, if not weekly. recently, it’s been more as i will be visiting him in a couple of weeks (so so excited).
